Indian Cricket League News - Ahmedabad, new addition to ICL cricket

Ahmedabad is being added to the Indian Cricket League's (ICL) playing grounds for the season beginning October, according to ICL Executive Board Member Kiran More.

"Some big names in cricket will join the ICL shortly. We are close to clinching the deal and an announcement can be expected in a week," the former test cricket told reporters here last night.

"We will have one more team as well this season," he disclosed.

Besides Ahmedabad, matches would be held this season in Hyderabad, Panchkula and Gurgaon, he added.

"We want to show to the world that we have an upper hand in cricketing merit," he said, expressing hope the youngsters playing ICL would get a chance for playing for the country as well.

"With eminent personalities like Mithun Chakraborty (Royal Bengal Tigers stakeholder) and now Vishnu Manchu aligning with the ICL, it's my full confidence and unshakeable belief that ICL would play an important role in strengthening domestic Indian cricket," he added.

Hyderabad heroes website www.hyderabadheroes.com was also launched on the occasion.
