PCB chief hints at "recalling" ICL players

Newly-appointed PCB chief Ijaz Butt has dropped hints at calling back fit and in-form Pakistan players who are busy playing in the Indian Cricket League (ICL).

According to sources, Butt has openly admitted discussing the ICL players' case in a recently held ICC Executive Board meeting in Dubai.

"There are bright chances of ICL players returning back to international cricket following the revelations that the ICC is on a weak footing against any lawsuit that the ICL management may initiate," an insider said.

Pakistani players, who are engaged playing for the ICL and are performing well, may be seen playing for the national side again, said a source and added that the ICC has been further put under pressure following the revelation by the PCB chairman that the game's body was also considering a possible merger of the two leagues.

"It is also no less than a big news that the ICC are contemplating the option of a possible merger of IPL and ICL. This must have given a big heart to the ICL management.
